I make wool dryer balls for some brick and mortar locations. I thought I’d share more information about them (in case you’re not familiar with them).
Directions: Place dryer balls into the dryer along with your wet laundry. Run the dryer cycle as normal. If you would like to add a light scent, before placing the dryer balls in the dryer, add a couple of drops of an essential oil. Continue to use the dryer balls until the scent dissipates. Wool dryer balls replace fabric softener.
Background: Dryer balls are used to help soften fabrics without chemicals in a clothes dryer. The wool dryer balls are handmade and contain 100% natural wool. They are solid wool from the outside to the core, giving them a longer lifespan. Dryer balls offer a natural alternative to replace dryer sheets and fabric softeners for baby clothing, people with sensitive skin, or those that enjoy natural laundry alternatives.
As a dryer rotates, the fabrics typically move to the outside of the drum. The dryer balls help agitate the fabrics, moving them toward the center of the dryer, helping reduce the drying time.
They soften clothes naturally and can decrease static. Natural essential oils or linen sprays can be gently applied to dryer balls (if desired). Using more than one dryer ball at a time can help improve their performance.
They also can serve as a natural option for dog or cat toys.
