If you’re new to sewing garments, I highly recommend finding a shift top pattern. I find them to be a wardrobe staple. I have made a few shift top patterns and this one was quite fun. I find shift tops are great for printed fabrics while also offering a classier option to wear (compared to the traditional, knit T-shirt).
I share in this post how to walk through the Esme top pattern from Lotta Jansdotter’s book, Everday Style with the Janome Airthread 2000D serger and the Skyline S7. Utilizing both machines helps this to be a quick project that also is finished well on the inside.
