I’ve always been quite intrigued with handkerchiefs. I have a small collection of them and I’ve have enjoyed looking for them in antique shops.

There’s something so special about generations past, how they kept their handkerchiefs close to their hearts. I created a project with Janome for a modern take on the traditional handkerchief. I loved using light weight cotton garment fabrics for this project like voile or linen. Using a printed fabric was intriguing to me as it will hide stains that may come with using the handkerchief.

If you’ve never sewn with a rolled hem presser foot or have not used a machine to stitch initials, this will be a fun project for you!
Check out the blog post on the Janome website for a full tutorial:
I have a handful of vintage kerchiefs and use them. I hadn’t even thought of making my own.

Oh I love hearing that!! Thank you so much for sharing! I’ve been saving scraps of my favorite lightweight garment fabrics so I thought it would be a fun pairing.
